Spring 2013 - AUDITIONS!

 

The following shows will be produced in the Spring Semester.  Roles are open to all 5C’s Students.  We are seeking actors of all of all races, cultures, gender identity, body type, heights, etc.

 

THEATRE

STAND AND DELIVER
Based on the screenplay by Ramon Menendez and Tom Musca. Adapted for the stage by Robert Bella.
Directed by Alma Martinez, Assistant Director/Choreographer Kim Gadlin

Auditions (Seaver Theatre)
Wednesday, January 23 & Thursday, January 24, times by appointment slot (see below for details)
Callbacks will be held on Friday, January 25, times TBA, First Rehearsal: Saturday, January 26, 1-4pm, Seaver Stage

For Auditions:
No experience necessary. Passion required.
Acting: Prepare one-minute contemporary monologue, MEMORIZED from a play of your choice. Dress as an archetypical 1980’s high school student.
Movement/Dancing: Everyone will be learning a dance sequence so dress appropriately. Seeking 1980s style street dancers, hip-hop, popping, breaking, etc.  If you have a routine, bring your music.

Auditions (Allen Theatre, Seaver Theatre Complex)
All those auditioning will be required to perform both a dance audition and an acting/singing audition

Dance Auditions – Wednesday, January 23 by appointment block (see below for details)
Acting & Singing Auditions - Thursday, January 24 by appointment slot (see below for details)
Callbacks will be held on Friday, January 25, times TBA.

For Auditions:
Dance: No preparation necessary.  Please dress in attire in which to move.  There will be two dance audition sessions scheduled.  Each session will take about 2 hours.
Acting: Prepare one contemporary monologue, MEMORIZED from a play of your choice.
Singing: Prepare 32 bars from a contemporary musical or hip-hop styled piece.  Please bring sheet music in your key.  An accompanist will be provided.  If planning to sing to playback (must be without vocal tracks), please bring your playback device.  A boom box will be provided.

Audition and Script materials are available on the 5C’s SAKAI site https://sakai.claremont.edu:8443/portal You must be a current student, faculty or staff member to access this information.  To access the folder for these materials, log in using your SAKAI account, click “membership”, then click the ”joinable sites” tab and type ”Audition” in the search box.  One of the folders listed will be “Audition Materials”.  Click on this folder and you will be able to access all materials in that folder.  If you have questions, please contact jack.morones@pomona.edu for assistance.
